About this site
The Illa de l'Aire is the islet that closes off Menorca's southeast opposite Punta Prima, recognisable by its lighthouse. There are several anchorages around it: the reef sits at 17-18 m, with rock, sand and meadows, and in the Punta del Bisbe area there is a small cave with a long tunnel. It is a rewarding, shallow dive, good for second dives and for those who have just earned their Open Water. The islet is protected and known for its endemic black lizard; underwater you will typically see white seabream, salema, octopuses and the odd grouper on the ledges. The channel between the islet and the coast can carry current, so entry and exit are always from the boat, with the centre choosing the spot according to the day.
