About this site
East of Illa de l'Aire, in the heart of the marine reserve, a wide two-level tunnel delivers some of the best backlit views in Menorca. Maximum depth around 20 m and about 15 minutes' boat ride from Maó. One of the island's top dives. Photos: MERAK DIVING CENTER. Approximate coordinates (to be confirmed with the centre). Site operated by Merak Diving Center (Maó).
Operational description
Dive with boat entry at Cagaires, designed for Advanced divers with group control, reading of the local current and a route adapted to sea conditions.
History and context
Cagaires is part of the usual diving routes in Menorca. The page combines scenic value, local marine life and the recurring operations of centres and clubs in the Balearics.
Entry
Boat entry with a briefing on anchoring, current, descent line and pick-up protocol.
Suggested route
Descent along the main reference, brief deep section, progress along the wall or drop-off, conservative turn and gradual return to the shallow zone.
